WHO AM I AND WHAT DO I DO
My name is Michele O'Sullivan and I am the founder of
Ladies In Training. Currently living in Ireland and pursuing my life's purpose in women's health & fitness. As a long term fitness and health enthusiast with a qualification in personal and group training I have a solid understanding of what it takes to get started with training the body both physically and mentally. I am passionate about helping women change their attitude towards working out and having a healthy and balanced relationship with food, showing them that YES! you can have your cake and eat it too! I do believe that it is my life's purpose is to help as many women as possible reach their health and fitness goals.
My key focus is to change the way women view and feel about their bodies.
MY PERSONAL STORY
So just a little bit about my back story and how I came to be where I am now, running a women's only online training platform that inspires women to be strong, have flexibility with their training and diet and to also enjoy the process also!
So I grew up in a time where skinny was fashionable and cutting calories and spending hours every week doing some form of cardio was the best way to achieve this desired "skinny look"!
Back then I didn't know any different, magazine covers would be spread with size zero celebrities and models and the content inside the magazine would contain multiple quick fix diets to shed pounds fast! It wasn't so much a lack of understanding around women's fitness and training, it was the industry at the time was pretty non-existent, women were simply not entering the free weights section of gyms in a fear they would appear "manly or bulky"!
I always had a keen interest in health & fitness yet growing up I didn't see how I could make it into a career. I spent years in college, working in bars, working abroad but there was always something missing, and that for me was purpose. One day I decided to bite the bullet and sign up to a Personal Training course.
At the time of signing up to the course I had never entered a gym before! Gym's absolutely scared the living s**t out of me, yet here I was completing a PT Course! I absolutely loved the course and really felt like I had found my passion in life! I knew then I wanted to work with and help as many women as possible view their relationship with exercise and nutrition in a different way. It didn't have to be about excessively cutting calories or spending hours on cardio machines, lifting weights was the way forward and I was eager to spread that message.
After completing the course I started taking clients 1-1 until I decided to make the move online and opened the Ladies In Training Platform! From there the rest is history! I have worked closely with many women to help them achieve their health & fitness goals!
